a fellow named Avi Smelly in Israel is doing some interesting furniture projects. Here is a low round table that he did.

The top is covered with sandpaper and put on a lathe. He then picks up the piece of various colored Woods and sand them to make the rings. A little clear coat sprayed on and that's a good thing. I don't know how useful would be the table but seems pretty cool.

just needs a sphere in the middle to finish it!
Seriously, he actually uses an interesting process in his plays.

seems like a kind of a gas giant should be in the middle.

Yes, really.
At least you don't have to worry about being wonky, because one leg is too short.

Or how about a chair with only two legs?

he should put some of these two chairs with a table with the hole in it and sell it as a whole.
For someone wiih good sense of balance, this can be the perfect living room set--lol.

(it is interesting project though)

it's very fun to do the impossible

something like two-legged Chair could work very well as a camp stool maybe ... no need to worry about the ground is level anyway ... Or put nails on the end of the legs and make them with 18-24 "for length and lead them to the sand on the beach.
Always interesting stuff Dave. Thanks for sharing.
